In project Maps & Cuts imagery spans from mechanical to biomorphic hybrids, hovering over old maps and mechanical drawings (both symbols of industrial progress and political and cultural colonialism).
I am engaged in the process of challenging traditional valuation of artworks on the contemporary art market. Artwork is exposed to criticism, scrutiny, evaluation, but rarely does the public get involved in the actual decision-making with apparent outcome: resizing, detaching, and tearing. Process of partitioning intact work of art, once and for all, changes the role of public, from passive observer into aggressive consumer.
